Jamal Lewis, born on August 29, 1979, is a former American football player who played running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Ravens. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest players in Ravens franchise history.

Baltimore Ravens Era

Lewis joined the Ravens in 2000 and quickly established himself as a star. He holds the Ravens' all-time rushing record with 10,607 career yards, ranking 25th in NFL history. Lewis played an integral role in the Ravens' Super Bowl XXXV victory in 2001, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown in the game.

Lewis's most memorable performance came on September 14, 2003, when he set the NFL single-game rushing record with 295 yards on 30 carries in the Ravens' win over the Cleveland Browns. In the first half of that game, Lewis carried the ball 16 times for an astonishing 180 yards.

Jamal Lewis retired from the NFL after the 2009 season. He is remembered as one of the most dominant running backs of his era and a key member of the Baltimore Ravens' championship team.
