Jack Butland Revives Career with Rangers Move

Former England Goalkeeper Joins Scottish Club on Four-Year Contract

Butland Signs Pre-Contract Ahead of July 1 Arrival

Jack Butland, the former England international goalkeeper, has signed a pre-contract agreement with Scottish Premiership club Rangers, subject to international clearance. The 30-year-old will officially join the club on July 1 on a four-year deal.

Butland began his career with Birmingham City and has since represented Stoke City, Burnley, and Crystal Palace in the English Premier League. He has also earned nine caps for the England national team.

Butland's move to Rangers comes after he was released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season. He spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan at Stoke City, where he made 19 appearances in all competitions.

Rangers manager Michael Beale has hailed Butland's signing as a "significant addition" to his squad. Beale believes that Butland's experience and quality will be invaluable to the team.

Butland will become Rangers' second-choice goalkeeper behind Allan McGregor, who is entering the final year of his contract. The Englishman will be hoping to impress during pre-season and challenge McGregor for the starting spot.
