Olympiacos Win Historic Trophy

Olympiacos made history as they beat Fiorentina 1-0 in extra time to win the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League final in Tirana, Albania. It was the first time a Greek side had won a major European trophy.

Fiorentina's Disappointment

Fiorentina had been the better side for much of the game, but they were unable to find a way past a resolute Olympiacos defence. The Italian side had a number of chances to win the game, but they were unable to take them. In the end, it was Olympiacos who took the lead in the 118th minute through Youssef El-Arabi. Fiorentina pushed for an equaliser, but they were unable to find one and Olympiacos held on to win the trophy.

Olympiacos' Triumph

Olympiacos' victory was a historic moment for the club. It was their first ever major European trophy and it was a just reward for a season in which they had played with great passion and determination. Olympiacos manager Carlos Corberán was delighted with his team's performance.

"I am so proud of my players," he said. "They have fought so hard all season and they deserve this victory. We knew that Fiorentina would be a tough opponent, but we never gave up. We believed in ourselves and we showed that anything is possible."
